I’m stealing this quote directly from J. Herron’s “I (heart) Spurgeon” post.

“Somebody has said a very nasty thing about us.
Well, well; we will answer him when
we have got through the work we have at hand, namely, praising God continually.
At present we have a great work to do, and cannot come down to wrangle. Self-love and its natural irritations
die in the blaze of praise
.”
- Charles Spurgeon
I need to own this quote. I need it to be who I am and I need to be reminded of the truth of it regularly. Then I need all my friends to read this.

Good stuff Spurgeon… you should write a book or something.

Bro – Just know I’m in the trenches with you praying!

And don’t forget the ancient Chinese proverb:
    “Tall Trees Attract Wind.”

That Spurgeon guy…he was a good one.

    And so are you.

Spurgeon is good stuff. I’m sure you know of his small, but excellent book “All of Grace” already (you can find it online easily if you don’t have a dead tree copy). If you’re into reading other Reformed guys, I recommend Jonathan Edwards as another whose writings you might consider adding to your library. :)
