“Somebody has said a very nasty thing about us.
Well, well; we will answer him when we have got through the work we have at hand, namely, praising God continually.
At present we have a great work to do, and cannot come down to wrangle. Self-love and its natural irritations
die in the blaze of praise.”
- Charles SpurgeonI need to own this quote. I need it to be who I am and I need to be reminded of the truth of it regularly. Then I need all my friends to read this.

Good stuff Spurgeon… you should write a book or something.

Bro – Just know I’m in the trenches with you praying!
And don’t forget the ancient Chinese proverb:

That Spurgeon guy…he was a good one.
And so are you.
Comment by John Alan Turner January 4, 2008 @ 7:54 pmSpurgeon is good stuff. I’m sure you know of his small, but excellent book “All of Grace” already (you can find it online easily if you don’t have a dead tree copy). If you’re into reading other Reformed guys, I recommend Jonathan Edwards as another whose writings you might consider adding to your library.
